The Zappy Nappy System

[For North American readers, please read the word 'daiper(s)' wherever the words 'nappy' or 'nappies' appear...]

  • Zappy Nappies were designed by an Australian mother for her children.
  • They are an easy-to-use, innovative way of caring for your infant's nappy needs.
  • The 100% cotton flannelette construction is highly absorbent yet allows baby's sensitive skin to breathe.
  • It stays soft naturally without having to use expensive chemical fabric treatments, and the design opens out to dry quickly on the line or in the dryer.
Choose Zappy Nappy® to help keep clean the environment your baby will inherit from you.

The Zappy System grows to suit your baby's needs...

ONE SIZE FITS ALL

Zappy Nappy - one size fits all

Zappies are designed to make life easier. Follow these steps to trouble-free nappy changing and a comfortable fit every time.

NEWBORN

1. Open the Zappy ready to change your baby. Fold the five layer pad under and in half.

2. Place baby on the Zappy and pull the front up between the legs to form a snug fit.

3. Ensure the large Velcro® strip is positioned just above the waistband wings. This is not used when fitting a new-born babe.

4. Fold the wings in and secure them, wing to wing, with the Velcro® tabs.

5. Fold the frontal flap forward over the waistband wings and tuck the excess under the wings.

6. Cover the Zappy with a waterproof pant of your choice.

ROOM TO GROW

1. Lay the Zappy out flat and pull the sewn-in pad fully forward. Fold the extra length under to suit boy or girl.

2. The five-layer night liner can be added now to form nineteen layers for extra absorbency.

3. Place the baby on the Zappy and pull up the front flap to form a snug fit.

4. Secure the Zappy using the Velcro® on the waistband wings in combination with the large strip on the front. Allow the excess flap to fall forward and hide the Velcro® tabs from fiddling fingers.

5. Cover the Zappy with a waterproof pant of your choice.

TRAINERS

The elastic leg and waistbands help provide a leakproof fit as baby learns to crawl and walk. Zappies will expand to fit most toddlers.

You will gain even more use out of your Zappies by adding the elastic sizer to the waistband wings to turn the Zappy into trainer pants.

Toilet training becomes less stressful for both toddler and parents thanks to Zappy Nappies.

LAUNDERING ZAPPY NAPPIES

  • Zappies must be washed at least once before use to maximise absorbency.
  • For cloth nappies and chemical-free babies' bottoms, natural sunshine is always the best "bleach" and wind the best "fabric softener". Use your outside clothes line :)
  • Do up the Velcro® on the waistband wings, joining the wings together, to protect the Velcro from lint while being washed and dried.
  • Peg the Zappy up by its absorbent pad as it will dry faster and take up less clothesline space.
  • Don't dry them outside if the temperature is less than 0 degrees Celsius.
  • Anti-bacterial soakers can be used, but do not use chlorine bleaches. Fabric softeners can alter the absorbency of cloth nappies.
  • Zappies are clothes dryer safe and fluff up nice and soft ready for use.
  • Zappy Overpants must be handwashed with mild soap in cold water and hung to dry out of direct sunlight. This will help prolong the life of the special breathable, non-PVC fabric.

    LINER

The Zappy Nappy liner is put inside Zappy Nappy for extra absorbency at night time and for bigger toddlers. There is a choice of two designs:

The all-cotton liner is used when waterproof pants are also used, achieving maximum waterproofing.
    Cost: $4.50 each

The waterproof-backed liner is suitable for using inside the Zappy nappy when not using waterproof overpants. It allows greater breathability, but a slightly reduced waterproofing of the nappy system. Good alternative for hot days, but will leak around the back if used under clothing or when child is in bed. Cost $5.50 each
