The Natural Choice

DAMP PROOF PANTS

for Nappy-Wearing Infants

(*Note:- Read the word "diapers" instead of the word "nappies" if you speak North American English)

Many parents are choosing to use cloth nappies for their infants as the natural and environmentally friendly alternative to disposable nappies/diapers. But when it comes to pilchers, we are still faced with some poor choices...

Nylon and plastic over-pants do not allow air circulation and so trap moisture and heat, leaving your infant uncomfortable and prone to nappy rash. The fluffy synthetic type of pilcher have such poor absorbency that parents are faced with constant nappy changes, wet clothes and bedding.

But now there is another choice...

Woollies...

100% wool damp-proof nappy pants

THE WOOLLIES ARE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE- OUR APOLOGIES FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

However, we are able to make available the pattern for $10 and sufficient recycled blanket pure wool fabric for $10 so you can make your own.

Why Woollies are the natural choice:

DAMP PROOF:
Woollies are highly absorbent. Wool holds moisture inside its hollow fibres without feeling damp on the surface. The thick gusset provides extra absorbency where it is needed most.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY:
Natural fibres are nature's gift to us!
HEALTHY:
Woollies breathe, allowing circulation of air and release of heat, thereby reducing the risk of nappy rash.
COMFORTABLE FOR ALL CLIMATES:
Woollies act like an insulator, keeping your infant at an even, comfortable temperature... ensuring baby stays warmer on cold days and cooler on hot days.
QUALITY THAT LASTS:
Woollies combine softer lightweight weaves with a thick gusset of blanket fabric right where absorbency is most needed.
Woollies are durable, and with care will serve your children and their children too!
EASY CARE:
Woollies are machine washable on wool (gentle) cycle. Do NOT tumble dry. It is not necessary to wash after every nappy change - damp Woollies may be air dried for reuse.
HANDMADE:
Individually made in Tasmania using selected recycled pure wool blankets. Recycling ensures Woollies are environmentally friendly, and affordable for the family budget.

Woollies are designed in three sizes:

Are the Woollies lanolinised?

No, we do not treat them. However it is possible to do them yourself. Buy some pharmaceutical grade lanolin (eg Lasinoh) from a Chemist shop. Use a pea-sized bit and dissolve in a litre of hot water to which you add a tiny amount of Wool Mix (or other approved wool detergent). Let it cool before adding the Woollies and soaking for a minimum of 1/2 hour. Spin and dry. The lanolin will wash out when washing the Woollies and the lanolising treatment may be repeated as needed.
